What Is The Miami-Dade County Family Court Services Unit?

The Miami-Dade County Family Court Services Unit was developed to assist judges and general magistrates  in relation to the unique needs of divorcing parents and their children. Services provided and referred through Family Court Services include; counseling, family counseling, supervised time-sharing, supervised therapeutic time-sharing, parent coordination, co-parenting, psychological evaluations, psychiatric evaluations, drug testing, substance abuse evaluations, social investigations, and paternity tests.  Through short-term interventions and services the Family Court Services team attempts to helps parents reach understandings, resolve issues together, and develop a support system in their communities to assist them in the future.  To obtain services through Family Court Services it is usually necessary to obtain an order of referral from a judge or general magistrate.
